Wilmington, NC— Most people consider to begin Christmas shopping early, but few actually do. With the current state of the economy, the need to start early is essential for the majority of us. October has arrived; the time to start is now.
Dry Corp, a Wilmington, NC based manufacturer of waterproof products, will be at the annual Wilmington Riverfest October 3 and 4, 2009 promoting the DryCASE. The DryCASE is a new, innovative product that offers the same waterproof protection as their DRYPro line of medical products, but for cell phones, digital cameras and MP3 players. DryCASE is made with a clear membrane and a medical grade one-way check valve that allows air to be removed, creating a waterproof vacuum seal around any item placed inside the waterproof case.
With products such as MP3 players, smart phones and digital cameras being some of the highest requested gadgets for Christmas, the DryCASE is the answer to protecting these higher priced items. Also available are DryCASE waterproof headphones, allowing users to stay connected to personal electronic devices while at the beach, behind the boat or in the water.
DryCASE works with a myriad of cell phones, MP3 players and digital cameras of all shapes and sizes. DryCASE will be available at Riverfest for a special holiday price. This makes for an affordable, unique Christmas gift to accompany any cell phone, digital camera or MP3 player.

Now you really can bring your cell phone everywhere with you, including the ocean. A local company says it’s found a way to call home from the water.
Wilmington based company Dry Corp develops medical equipment like this rubber vacuum seal you can put over a cast so you can swim with a broken arm.
Now, they’ve come up with a waterproof case for your i-Pod or cell phone.
“It allows you to use the touch screen, take and make calls, text message, e-mail, it’s also clear on both sides so you can take pictures through it if you’re using a camera or a camera phone,” said co-creator Corey Heim.
What keeps your electronics dry is the vacuum seal, once you pump all the air out, it’s safe to put it in the water.
A removable lanyard and armband keep it attached during physical activity. Waterproof headphones allow you to listen to music or make a phone call.
But not everyone’s convinced…
“I think I would be a little nervous about putting it in a bag and putting it in the water,” said Yvonne Griffin.
Eric howland hit the surf to give it a try. “If you had both earphones in you couldn’t really hear what was going on around you so it might not be good to be dropping in on people, people wouldn’t really hear you.”
If you have a blackberry, you can’t control the mouse inside the bag, but for people like McClean Seward, the dry case is a lifesaver. “I’m always on the water, I work on the water, use it for my I-Phone, digital camera, it’s great for kayak fishing, everything like that, you never have to worry about getting it wet.”
The dry case costs $35. The waterproof headphones are separate; they’re about $23, so you’re looking at about $60 for both.
They’re available at local surf shops and beach stores or online at drycorp.com.
Dry Case is the best iPhone accessory hands down! Now I can take my iPhone anywhere thanks to the 100% Waterproof Vacuum Seal. And with the included buoyant armband I won’t ever have to worry about my iPhone sinking. Thanks Dry Case!

Dry Corp recently donated numerous DryCASE to Surfers Healing, a nonprofit organization that assists children with autism. Surfers Healing travels the country hosting free surf camps for autistic children. The children spend a day splashing around in the ocean learning how to surf, with the help of volunteers. Surfers Healing provides all the gear needed and even offers complimentary food and drinks for the entire family.
Surfers Healing was founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz after they spent the day surfing with their son Isaiah, who was diagnosed with autism when he was three. The ocean seemed to give him a break from the sensory overload he usually suffered from and they decided they wanted to share the calming effect of surfing with other autistic children.
Dry Corp is proud to donate to such an inspiring and helpful organization.
Today we are unpacking our stuff from the 4th Annual Silvagni Pro/Am Surf Contest. Dry Corp was one of the main sponsors and proceeds from the Event went to benfit the Lyme’s Disease foundation. We were stoked to support such a good cause and get the DryCASE waterproof phone, camera, mp3 case into the hands of some of the top surfers on the East Coast.

DryCASE will be exhibiting at the 2009 surf expo in Orlando Florida on August 20th. We are excited about the oppurtunity to show so many of the surf and beach shops our innovative new product. We will be at booth 1721, please stop by to see us. Look for the fish tank with the iPhone in it’s waterproof case in it!

DryCASE, the waterproof case for phones, cameras, and music players, is equipped with a three way headphone and microphone jack, an industry first, that permits the use of headphones and headsets that include a microphone. DryCASE Waterproof Headphones allow users of DryCASE to make and receive calls, and listen to music while the personal electronic device is secured in the waterproof case.
DryCASE’s clear membrane and vacuum seal permits the use of all the available capabilities of a cell phone, camera or a music player while at the beach, pool or lake. DryCASE is made with a medical grade one-way check valve that allows air to be removed. This process creates a water proof vacuum seal and the case conforms to any item placed inside the waterproof case, including iPhone, iPod, a digital camera, or any personal item users wish to keep dry. Once all the air is removed, the pump can be detached and the cap can be placed on the valve, helping to keep out any sand or dirt. The pump can also remain attached and be used as a floatation device to keep DryCASE from becoming lost in the water.
DryCASE can be fully submerged in water and is made from a durable material that can withstand most water or beach activities. The DryCASE, used with DryCASE Waterproof Headphones, enables users to use all available features of their iPhone or iPod while swimming, surfing, or participating in other outdoor activities. DryCASE Waterproof Headphones are completely submersible, and can be used up to three meters or nearly ten feet underwater. The personal electronic device stays dry and secure in DryCASE, while the user stays connected by receiving calls, replying to e-mails, or listening to music.
DryCASE Waterproof Headphones can be purchased for $19.95. DryCASE and DryCASE Waterproof Headphones can be purchased through the company website, http://drycase.com, or by telephone at 866-6000-DRY. Same day shipping is available on orders placed before 3:15 PM EST.
