Dry Corp provides 150 DryCase phone covers to local hospitals and fire departments amid Covid-19 pandemic
Newnan, GA, April 2020 – This week the leaders of Dry Corp and HMP Enterprises, Inc., Bruce Maloy and Paul Henry Hunt, hand-delivered a total of 150 DryCases, waterproof phone covers, to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Piedmont Newnan Hospital and The Coweta County Fire Department. The DryCase phone covers will serve as a sanitary barrier to prevent additional contamination from exposed phones for doctors, nurses and first responders on the frontlines fighting Covid-19. Dry Corp provides waterproof medical products through DryPro & waterproof electronic covers through their sister company, DryCase.
“We wanted to help find a way to protect those who are fighting this battle, and our patented vacuum-sealed DryCase phone covers felt like a great way to start,” said Bruce Maloy, CEO of Dry Corp & HMP Enterprises, Inc. “We heard many stories of doctors, nurses and frontline workers wrapping their phones in plastic bags when entering contaminated rooms, that felt unacceptable. Our donation, we hope, will be a step to prevent cross contamination.”
“The support from individuals and organizations in the community for Piedmont Newnan Hospital and hospitals throughout the Piedmont system has been incredible. The generous donation of cell phone Dry Cases from HMP Enterprises, Inc. will keep our employees safe while communicating with patients and staff,” stated Vicki Kaiser, Executive Director of Oncology, Support Services and Community Affairs, Piedmont Newnan Hospital. “Gestures like these show our employees that their heroic efforts to keep the community safe are recognized and appreciated. We can’t thank everyone enough for their support during this challenging time.”
Jennifer Palmer, Program Coordinator, Thomas. F. Chapman Family Cancer Wellness, Piedmont Newnan Hospital added, “HMP Enterprises, Inc’s products are made with the needs of the healthcare industry in mind and are perfect for preventing the spread of germs. Our staff will definitely put them to good use during this crisis and long after. We are so grateful to Bruce Maloy and Paul Hunt and team for this generous donation!”
Pat Wilson, MBA, CFO, MIFireE, Fire Chief, Coweta County Fire Department said, “The Dry Case system is going to be a game changer for our fire rescue personnel, especially related to operating in potential biohazard situations. Our responders often refer to their phones for information. The Dry Case system will allow personnel to utilize their phones without the risk of contaminating the unit. The easy decontamination cover will allow responders to protect these highly valuable electronic devices, while allowing them the freedom to utilize the device with limited risk of exposure. This product will reduce the risk of biohazard transfer thus protecting the health and wellness of our fire rescue team. Thanks to Bruce Maloy, Paul Hunt and their team for providing a new safety system for our new normal.”
Paul Henry Hunt, President of Dry Corp & HMP Enterprises, Inc said, “As it does for so many, this hits home for many team members at DryCorp, as several of our members have family or loved ones working on the frontlines. Our goal is to always give back and help protect our community from any situation and this pandemic is no acceptation.”
